Dear Readers:
Thank you for taking this unfinished draft of a book to #1.
Numbers and ranks aren’t supposed to matter, right? I have a pretty cool day job so I get to write because I love it. I get to create stories to be shared without having to worry about money and for the sake of creating. But when I saw that #1 underneath #FatGirlMagic? I started bawling my eyes out.
On December 31, 2016, I wrote this in a blog post about ~New Year’s Resolutions~: “I’d like to enter 2017 with a positive mindset. Instead of resolutions, I’m making a list of attainable goals–things that I have direct control over… Saying things like… I’ll reach #1 in the Paranormal category on #Wattpad [is a] great thing(s) to wish for. My blood, sweat, tears, work, and time will get me closer to making that wish come true, but ultimately, seeing those things come to fruition are not up to me. They’re reliant on someone else saying yes, on readers voting, commenting, and sharing my work.”
Readers did this. You gave me this gift and I am forever thankful. I hope #FatGirl Magic continues to surprise and delight you, to inspire such memorable and visceral reactions, to move you to leave literal hundreds of comments for me to read (and to have full-on conversations with other readers you can connect with who eventually turn into new friends because friendship is magic). Thank you, thank you, thank you <333
And for soon-to-be readers? It’s never too late to join the party.
