Dear Lucky (and Rebel and Maverick),

We made it. Today’s the day: LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE HAUNTED PLACES is out in the US and the UK!

From the seed of an idea born from a disastrous draft to a February fever dream writing marathon, yours was the book of my heart the entire time. It’s an examination of being alone in the world and how that differs from the nature of loneliness, a referential homage to haunted houses steeped in admiration and defiance, and most importantly, a quietly fierce romance built on a rich, unshakable foundation.

Deeply enjoying something doesn’t necessarily mean one will be able to write it successfully. I’m still discovering who I am as a romance author, and so I thought to myself, “If this is the last book that I’m able to publish, how can I convince readers to fall in love with all my favorite things, too? Am I truly able to do such a thing?” A love story starring an ace FMC with ESP, an anxious MMC with weird dreams, and a ghost-free haunted house is niche as hell, but you exist now. There are readers who already love you and even more waiting to find you.

My only regret is not writing Maverick’s POV because I was too afraid. But Lucky, writing my way through your complex relationship with fear is what taught me that I *am* ready to write all sides of a romance, not just one. Made me believe I’m capable of so much more as long as I reach for it.

Your story isn’t mine anymore, but I’ll always carry you with me in my heart.
